FreeSports HD enters final stage testing ahead of launch

The free-to-air sports channel has now entered final testing ahead of a mid-July HD launch.

FreeSports is making a second attempt at launching an HD channel on Sky, after last year's aborted tests, which were followed by the HD channel launching exclusively on Virgin Media.

On the 15th July 2019, the channel is due to go HD on Sky channel 422. Ahead of the launch, full audio and video testing has now started, meaning the HD channel can already be manually tuned into.

As it's a test transmission, interruptions, breaks in service and parameter changes are always possible. Sky viewers will automatically see the channel added on launch day and are not required to make any changes. The broadcaster has remained tight-lipped if the HD version will also appear on Freesat at this stage.
