Freesports confirms HD Freesat channel

Freesports has confirmed that its HD channel will also be available to Freesat customers this month, in conjunction with its launch on Sky.

A year after aborting its HD test transmissions on satellite and launching Freesports HD exclusively on Virgin Media, HD tests resumed earlier in the year, with Freesports confirming it will go HD on Sky in the UK on the 15th July 2019.

It has now confirmed that it will also launch its HD channel on Freesat, where it is expected to appear shortly after it has been added to Sky - this is because Sky has a role in configuring a channel to enable it to launch on Freesat, due to the nature of how UK satellite television is set up.

In both cases, Freesports HD is due to automatically appear on the number currently used by the standard definition channel on Sky UK and Freesat channel lists.

Freesports, free-to-air sister channel of Premier Sports, launched in August 2017 and specialises in sports including live Ice Hockey, Major League Soccer and Formula E highlights.
