Freeview retune for Together TV

Freeview viewers may need to retune to gain access to Together TV, which has now launched across more of the UK on terrestrial TV.

Together TV, formerly known as the Community Channel, screens factual and lifestyle programming everyday from 12noon-6am, with teleshopping during the morning. It's the UK’s only broadcaster dedicated to social change – and the world’s only supporter-owned national TV channel, backed by all of the UK's main broadcasters.

Following a retune, the channel will appear on Freeview 89. Some devices will retune automatically. Previously, Together TV was only available in some parts of the UK via Freeview.

Filling the channel's old broadcast slot, Together+1 is now live on Freeview 93 in those parts of the UK that had access to Together TV prior to today's change.

The additional capacity for Together TV follows changes to the transmission of several Sony-owned channels at the beginning of the month, which created spare capacity. The expansion of Together TV's Freeview coverage has been facilitated by multiplex operator Arqiva.

A number of other changes have taken place on Freeview coinciding with Together TV's move. The BBC's extra red button channels for Wimbledon have now been removed (602-606), alongside BoxNation (268), which ceased using Freeview at the end of June. A number of retune slates have also been removed.
