TVPlayer restructures subscription offering as channel numbers drop

Streaming service TVPlayer has discontinued its Premium+ and Kids TV packs following the departure of a number of channels from the service.

Colors, Rishtey, News 18, Nickelodeon, NickJr and NickJr Too departed the multi-device streaming service on Friday, becoming the latest set of channels to stop being available on TVPlayer's platform.

This has prompted a number of changes to the service's subscription packages. Premium+ has closed and remaining Premium+ channels have now moved to the main Premium package, meaning that Premium subscribers will now receive more channels -  Nat Geo Wild, Comedy Central Xtra, Vice and Baby TV - for the same monthly fee.

Existing Premium+ subscribers will be moved to the main Premium package, with their monthly fee reduced to £6.99.  The process is automatic, except on Amazon, where users will have to follow instructions posted on TVPlayer's support site.

The Kids package has now been discontinued, and subscribers are to receive a refund of their last month's subscription fee.

Affected users will have been emailed with information.

TVPlayer says it hopes to bring the recently departed channels back to its platform in the future.
