TVPlayer cuts back free offering

TVPlayer has pulled further channels from its free streaming service and has lost one further premium channel.

The streaming service says it wants to focus more on its premium service, which is available for £6.99 a month and includes channels such as Eurosport, SyFy, Fox and Discovery.

The move has meant over a dozen channels were removed from the service last week, and follows a year of cutbacks, package changes and the introduction of registration to watch terrestrial free-to-air channels from ITV in February.

The latest channels to be affected are:
  • BET
  • Clubland
  • Total Country
  • NOW80s
  • BBC Red Button
  • Showcase
  • Fashion TV
  • S4C
  • BBC Alba
  • Together
  • France24
  • NHK
  • Euronews
  • TRT World
  • BBC Parliament
  • Al Jazeera English
  • Russia Today (RT)
Some of these channels can be live streamed via their respective websites.

Additionally, the pay TV channel Baby TV has also been withdrawn from the service effective 7th August 2019.
