Quest OD adds new channels

Quest OD has been expanded to include live streams of two additional channels, with more on-demand content launching next month.

Discovery's connected TV service, named after its first free-to-air channel Quest, now brings together content from across its free-to-air portfolio of channels. Ex-UKTV channels Really and Home have now arrived on the service, bring the channel tally to six.

While users can already access live streams of both channels, on-demand content won't be available via Quest OD until 22nd October 2019. Until then, selected on-demand content continues to be carried on UKTV Play.

Since both channels were bought by Discovery earlier this year and spun out of the UKTV channel network, both services have been in transition behind the scenes. Home is set to ultimately become the UK version of Discovery's HGTV network. Discovery's long-term intention for Really hasn't yet been announced. Discovery also took over UKTV's Good Food channel. Its programming is now being merged with Food Network UK.

The changes leave Discovery's Travel Channel as the only free-to-air channel not being carried on Quest OD. Travel Channel left Freeview to make way for DMAX, but continues on other platforms.
