Trace Music to launch new UK services

Trace Music is set to re-brand three of its recently acquired UK television channels this November.

The move comes a year after the music channel business took over Chart Show TV, Chart Show Hits, The Vault and Starz TV from Sony Pictures Television.

Under the proposals, The Vault - which features music from around 20 years ago, alongside old ex-Nickelodeon children's series including Kenan and Kel - will become Trace Vault.

The 1st November will also see the UK launch of Trace Urban, where viewers can tune into music from artists including Stormzy, SKEPTA, AJ Tracy and Steflon Don.  Six different versions of the Trace Urban channel are already distributed to France, Southern Africa, French-speaking Africa, French Overseas Territories, Asia plus a 'rest of the world' feed.

Trace Latina will bring Trace Group's recently launched brand, dedicated to the music from Latin America to the UK broadcasting market for the first time.

At the same time, existing channel brands will be retired. Trace Music first confirmed that a re-brand of Starz was on its way in a statement to Ofcom earlier this year, as part of an investigation by the regulator over a breach in UK broadcasting rules made while the station was still owned by Sony.

Globally, Trace owns and operates 21 paid TV channels, 4 FM radio stations and over 30 digital and mobile services.

Its UK channels are currently available via satellite.
