UKTV adds Drama timeshift

UKTV has launched its first new service since its split.

A timeshift version of its TV channel Drama has officially gone live today on Sky and Virgin Media, following a period of testing.

Drama+1 is now available in the UK on Sky 243 and Virgin Media 226. It's not available on Freeview or Freesat.

Launched in July 2013, Drama is the home of classic and contemporary drama series including Death in Paradise, Silent Witness, Classic EastEnders and  The Brokenwood Mysteries.

It's the first addition to the UKTV portfolio since the broadcaster was split between its former owners, BBC Studios and Discovery.  BBC Studios retained the bulk of channels and the UKTV brand. With the launch of Drama+1, all UKTV channels now have a timeshift service, although availability of those timeshifts varies across platforms.

Drama+1 is also broadcast free-to-air on satellite using the following parameters:

Satellite Astra 2E (28.5°E)
Frequency 12129
Polarisation vertical
Symbol Rate 27500,
FEC 2/3,
SID 25113 Drama+1

To make way for Drama+1's arrival on Virgin Media's cable network, sister channel Alibi HD has moved from Virgin Media channel 226 to channel 212. Channel 212 was previously used by Virgin Media for TruTV.
