Heart Dance launches on Sky

Smooth Extra gives way to new dance music station on satellite.

The easy listening station has been replaced by new sister station Heart Dance on Sky channel 0146.

Heart Dance first launched on terrestrial digital radio this summer, following a reshuffle of capacity by Smooth and Heart's owner Global. The station is effectively an extension of Heart's Club Classics strand, which is simulcast on the station.

Although Smooth Extra offered listeners a chance to listen to a block of non-stop music during the day, most of the time, Smooth Extra's schedule consists of a simulcast of Smooth Radio London, this can continue to be heard on Sky channel 0128.

Heart Dance joins Heart (channel 0111) and Heart 80s (0112) on Sky's radio service. Heart Dance has a bitrate of 160kbps stereo, according to Digitalbitrate.com.
