Netflix adopts standard UK age ratings

Netflix will start using cinema-style age ratings from 31st October 2019.

Users of the UK service will see the specially-designed symbols from the British Board of film Classification (BBFC), with the aim to provide a consistent scheme to those age rating symbols seen at the cinema and on DVD packaging.

This will replace Netflix's previous maturity ratings with standard age ratings U, PG, 12, 12A, 15 and 18, with Breaking Bad getting a  18 rating.

The adoption of the BBFC ratings follows an agreement between the two organisations first announced in March 2019.
